This week we made wooden name tags.We first started out by drilling two holes in a rectangle of wood. Then we wrote are name in sharpie (are colonial names and real names). To match our names we made people out of fabric, cloth, yarn and paper. We had an option of what ever clothing we wanted as long as it represented clothing in 1610-1690. Our class put a pin next to our person and we hung our name tag right next to it.
This week we've been focused on the colonial times. First, we had to find a place to settle on our map. Next, we picked our fake names of people who came on the Mayflower. When we had our person the we had to do a quick little biography on our person. We also made little people representing our person. We also drew a village in the colonial times. To go along with our person we made a journal. We're pretending we're coming to the new world so we write in our journal how are day went and how we felt. We also made a house. Well that's what we are doing on colonial studies. It's a whole lot of fun! From Alexa V. In our class, we were assigned to make a podcast about a book we read. My book was The Cay. It was about a boy who got stranded in a island with an african american person. If you want, you can listen to them on Ms. Barendse's classes weebly. By Zyrus Here's my PODCAST Today is Halloween! I'm so excited for our Halloween Party at school. For our Halloween Party we drew an eyeball. We bobbed for donuts and made a hand made out of a glove, popcorn, and candy corn. There was a jar of candy that we had to guess how many candies were in the jar. If you got the closest guess, you would get the jar of candy. Trystan and Keaton won the jars of candy.
